Oh oh! And!!

I really want a boudhran.

It's a handheld Irish drum.

It's not helping that they're actually pretty affordable on ebay and they have some with beautiful celtic knot patterns on them.

Oh.. and did I mention I actually know how to play it?

Woot for being part of the Society for Celtic Studies Club at my High School. :)

[livejournal.com profile] vesper2000 might be able to recommend some reputable manufacturers to you. She's quite the musician...

I have one. It hangs over my window. Since I stopped doing faire, I haven't played it in a long time. I recently just picked up my doumbek in however long it's been. (I so need to find a decent drum circle to play in... to brush up.) I need to get the oil to clean it. And my tippers... LOL... are in my pen coaster by my desk. :)

You know how to play? Nice. Not many chic bodhran players. Woot!

That sounds like an awesome club. Don't think I had anything like that at my high school... then again, mine was full of yuppies. :P

You should try Lark in the Morning--I think they are up your way. that way you can play it and check the quality out.

Good luck!

ah yes, the good old SCS. wonder if it still exists?

Heck if I know... I think it would all depend if that teacher that was the one who ran it is still there.

Def. worth looking into :)

That club was fun times :)
