A.K.A. The battle that almost never came to be.

I've remained relatively quiet about Namco and sort of the general state of things in my life. I hit a small downward swing about a week ago due to the crippling realization that within a few weeks, I could be unemployed for the first time in a large number of years and quite possibly without the comfort of unemployment to help me out.

Here's why.. )

I blame [ profile] funktaur for this.

It appears I have wrangled myself a not-so-distant goal.

Sproutzilla may be rockin' a Miata.

Keyword being, "may" but it's still something I'm seriously considering.

I was at the household of Rozga, Valden, G-Wolf, and others just hangin' out when we got on the subject of motorcycles and what kind of bikes we're looking to get at some point, what bikes are good for N00b riders and various other 2-wheeled subject putty.

We slithered the conversation around and eventually got on the subject of Valden's Miata. Essentially it came out as, "Well if you've got x number of dollars, you got yerself a Miata."

I was curious and wanted to see the little monster in question.

We hopped out to the garage and sure enough, it was tiny, black and unsuspecting. Convertible with a British racing green hardtop. And very slight racing stripes on the hood.

It needs some work on the engine but otherwise it's fit for the taking.

After talking to Valden for a bit, I was gaining more and more interest. Admittedly... the rims were sexy and so was talk of doing the work to add a roll bar. :: Drool ::

At this point, with only one more small step to complete the claim for my license, I plan on seeing how the job at Namco goes and if it looks like it's gonna be longer than a few months. If things look good, I'm going to see about getting the funds together and buying the Miata.

If it doesn't work out.. there's other cars. It's just that this one is in the range of what I'd be willing to work with at *this* point in my life.

We shall see what the future holds :) All I know, is I'm over this whole non-mobility bs.

The time is now. :)

Today was my interview at Namco-Bandai.

It was quite an adventure getting there as one leg of my journey required me to take the VTA Light Rail which I've never taken before so I was a bit nervous about that.

I left really early to make sure I got there early.

One by one I grabbed the appropriate buses. Then I arrived in San Jose across the street from the VTA Light Rail station I was supposed to catch my train at.

I didn't realize this. It was poorly explained in my transit directions that THIS was in fact, the train station I needed. So after waiting for a few minutes, I freaked and hoofed it for about 10 mins down the street to another light rail station.

As my train went past me... fuck.

Luckily, I had left early so I had some time cushion to grab the next train. As I got to the next station, I quickly realized I had been at the correct station initially. Balls.

Ah well.

I finally made it after riding the light rail and a final bus which dropped me off directly across the street from the building.

The building was unassuming and I ran with just moments to spare to the office.

That was one of the more terrifying interviews I've been in. I swear those guys had (or at least acted like they had) no sense of humor. Hell, I thought I was charming but clearly, I'd met my match.

I got nervous and stumbled over a few of the answers I gave to the general interview questions. Then it came time to show my ability to have any sort of attention to detail.

They seemed impressed at the facts I recalled after looking at an advertisement for about 45 seconds and them asking me questions about it.

After all the questions and the detail test, I had to do a spelling and grammar test and then it was over.

They said I'd know Friday or Monday and that was that.

It looks like a cool place to work, all in all.

But I've done all I can do at this point so once I find out where I stand, I'll determine whether or not I need to confirm for the other interview next Friday with City Beach in Fremont.

At one point.. they asked what would differentiate me from other candidates. I swear to you, I had to bite my tongue from saying, "Well. I'm a girl, I don't live with my parents, and I'm 29." :) But I didn't :)

And now we play... the waiting game.

One giant leap for Sprout.

Today's the big day. In about 45 mins I'll be stepping out the door and headed to my Namco-Bandai interview. Sure..its game testing. Sure it doesn't pay much. Sure...its a contract gig. But! If I get hired...learn well..and keep at could potentially grow to a bigger and better situation for me over time. This is just a stepping stone in the right direction.

And...should I not get hired..i have an invite to an interview with another company in Fremont next friday as an MC/Event planner for large and corporate events. After reading the job description my roommate exclaimed they had just described me to a T. So at least that's a plan B.

I'm extremely nervous and I'm trying to be confidant.

Eye of the Tiger, baby!

Here goes nuthin'!

So... my friend [ profile] humblewolf is one of the many funny people I know.

And truthfully, he's one of top fav. people to hang out with.

Which is also why he's my second in command/co-host for FC:Unleashed!

We were at the same gathering on Saturday night and we were talking/joking/being ridiculous like usual when we got on the subject of chests.

So.. in an effort to flex his chest muscles to go along with the stupidity that was our conversation, he posed and made this ridiculous face:

Which in turn made me fall to the ground laughing hysterically. I couldn't even look at him without bursting into laughter. So I took a pic, made it his ID pic on my phone, and spent the rest of the night laughing cuz he kept doing it!

So I had to share that :)

I'm bored at work, full of yummy noodle bowl food truck goodness and feeling geekily inspired.

So I've just been slapped with the bug of Geeky pick-up lines... :)

Here's a few I just came up with.. feel free to add your own...:

Hey baby, did you know that last night you were part of my final...fantasy?

Hey baby, I'll boba your fett anytime. (Also: Jabba your hut. Or whatever else you think works.)

Wanna go back to my place and Hulk out?

Did you know I can bend steel with my brain? Oh. And I'm great in bed, too.

You think I look this good in spandex wait til I put on something less revealing.

Is that a light sabre in your pocket or are you just happy to see...oh wait it is a light sabre.

Set phaser to sexy.

Did you know that in Klingon your name means, "Mmmmmmm....."?

Hey baby, you were leveling up in my dreams all night last night.

I'm fucking Batman. What else do I have to say?

It's yet another ADVENTURE! post! :) WOOO! :: crowd goes crazy ::

This adventure is called AOD and Japantown...

Or as I'd like to call it: Sproutzilla ate Japantown. The end. :)

This comes with quite a few pics so I'll be cutting it up by categories :) But the whole thing will flow in chronological order for the weekend :)

Woo :)

And so it begins..With Friday... )
The movie I will never see again. )
The slow walk back..and final Friday musings.. )
Saturday. Let the convention begin )
Being recognized, being complimented, and why my ass still hurts... )
The reason Sproutzilla shouldn't drink.. )
And then it was Sunday! )

All in all, it was a pretty awesome weekend :)

I've decided that if I want to start having adventures, I want to document them.. so here is my first adventure!

Drinking and San Francisco.

Or as I like to call it: Sproutzilla romps amongst the urban campers and finishes the night with some German fun!

Friday was a short day of work but a long day altogether.

Through the rabbit hole, with pictures! )

Ok. So due to a miscommunication/misunderstanding/omgwtf?! the word was put out that I had passed away.

I never thought I'd have to do one of these posts.

But I assure all of you.

I'm not dead.

It was a misunderstanding about a friend that had recently passed.

I hope that clarifies things.

Sprout out.

Sooo that's weird....a metric ton of furries have looked at my LJ in the last 24 hours.

Hi Guys!

*waves* :)

I'm guessing it's either because [ profile] imweasel_2112 posted my name and everyone went, "Hey Sprout! I know her!" or of course there's always the possibility that people are out there talking crap about me as well :)

Either way.

Woot! People are looking at me! *poses*

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if any of you have heard but it was just passed down to me by the grapevine that Alexis Randall passed away last night in her sleep from Apnea.

I don't know much beyond that other than it's very sad news.

It's crazy. I just worked with her on FLARE at FC.

Top Gear...

Ok.. so far.. I gotta say.. I LOVE this show.

I haven't seen the American version but I'm all about the British version.

So far.. my fav. episodes are the Vietnam challenge, the American Car challenge, the track day challenge with the Alfa Romeos, and just the general overuse of the word, "cock."

I really also like how childishly Jeremy argues things when it comes to the cars he likes :) It's awesome :)

And goddamnit... now I want to go drive on a track. Balls.

Curse you, Top Gear and you influential ways!

Yay for Netflix and feeding my addiction :)

I'm no longer doing ComedySportz Rec League this session.

It's for a number of reasons. But it really comes down to my head and my heart just not being in it this time.

I'm looking to start back up in the Spring!

So yay for that.

Many thanks to any who were planning on attending :)
