So my grandma has been here for approx. 30 minutes and already she's made a comment that I don't look like I've lost any weight, that my apartment isn't up to her cleaning standards, That I'll never be much of a housekeeper, she's cleaning my bathroom,we had a conversation with long awkward pauses, and she's made me do the dishes because the sight of them is driving her crazy.

Argh.

I can tell this is going to be a fun week.

Because she lives in texas now and I haven't seen her in oh I dunno... 7 months and she's visiting and I don't know how long it will be before I see her again.

And truthfully, because she's always done that. I expected it.

Look. This is for you and Chris. Regardless of her personality. I invited her because she's the closest thing I have to a parent. Because once again, I haven't seen her in 7 months. Because I love her dearly. And because I don't know how much longer she's going to be alive nor how long it will be before I see her again.

And anyone who knows me or has known me for a long amount of time, know this is who she is. She speaks her mind. It's been like that my entire life.

I can totally understand. My grandmother yells at me daily. In the mornings, it's 'are you eating enough? You should eat something' and at the night its 'you fat slob! You should loose some wieght'.

She's cantancorious, she's illogical and she's a bitch... but she's my grandma and I'm taking care of her because she's the closest thing to family I got.

it'll be ok, just remind yourself how much she means to you. that's what i have to tell my mom when she tells me if looks like i might be gaining back some of the weight i lost or how unattractive tattoos are on women. it's not like they mean to hurt our feelings.
