Holy god, I'm amazing!

The fact that I can comfortably set up an entire movie shoot's worth of equipment and operate it all without problem is mind boggling!

I had my evaluation in lab today. And we did just that. Lights, camera, directing, sound, mixing etc. I did all of it and we all passed our evals.

We shoot friday.

Still don't have all of our actors.

So guess who gets to be the lead at this point?

ME!

I could be starring in our movie. And one of our other group members could be playing my bf.

Good times.

Here's the funny thing. The guy who would be playing my bf just HAPPENS to have the same last name that I do.

Pretty funny stuff.

We made one of our ever so gullible group members believe we're related. ( We do kind of look alike )

So I'm excited about that! YAY! :)

I haven't gotten to act in a while and never on camera. So I'm totally nervous. Plus, that means I'll no longer be singing Blue Moon but instead an original song composed by another one of our group members. Which means that I now have... oh.. a day to learn this song.

Crazy.

Today I had a lot of free time to kill so I ended up watching a few movies. I watched about half of Romeo and Juliet ( the leo and claire version... I never realized how awesome that movie is visually and that all the sound is dubbed over much like some of the old spag westerns were... interesting. ), Little Miss Sunshine, and a documentary on Paul Bowles. Interesting guy. I watched the last one because I saw my Lit teacher and some of my friends are in his class. I found out they were watching the movie and he invited me to come along and watch. So I did :)

Good times. :)

I snagged another free cup of tea today AND a muffin! Suh-weetnezz!

It wasn't jasmine tea this time.. blah. Ah well. It's a green/black tea blend. So I'm ok with that.

You know what's better than jasmine tea? ICED jasmine tea :) Oh man.. during the summer... good times.

Our guest lecturer was ill so we didn't have lecture today. We still have lab so I'm just killing time in the library. I'm probably going to pop in a movie and watch that for a bit. :)

I had a big project due today that I spent some time on last night. I tried to focus on it but I was tired and kept getting distracted. So I came to school and finished it this morning.

My group's first day of shooting is on Friday. And I don't have class Monday so I can start working at Starbucks. I bought a pair of work shoes last night at Payless. I'm hoping they're up to code because I couldn't totally remember what was ok to wear and what wasn't.

I got the main points though.. Leather top, non-slip, no heel, etc.

They're pretty comfy :)

I've come to the conclusion that I miss gaming. A lot. I miss the " good ol' days " of staying up, watching movies, playing munchkin, etc. I guess one of the reasons why I never really continued LARPing, even though I really enjoyed it, I always felt like I wasn't all that great at it. And moreso, I suck at making character sheets. I always get really confused.

I think I'm going to try to get myself to a few cons this year schedule and budget permitting. Of course.

The ache of Disneyland has been picking at my brain lately. I'm already itching to go back. I think that I'd like to go if things at Starbucks go well as well as a few other things in my life. Sort of a, " hey, stuff is awesome, let's celebrate! " sort of thing.

I'm flying this time, though. damnit. :)

Ok. Love the rain. Really I do.

Hate. Myself and my car.

Hate myself because I was lazy and didn't change my windshield wipers as frequently as I should.

Now hate my car because the driver's side window became all stupid a few months ago and now there's no tight seal on the window so it.. that's right.. leaks. I have the wettest butt ever when I get out of the car. It's awesome. :)

Oh. And why do I hate myself about my narsty windshield wipers? Because today, while driving to school, and without my realizing it, the metal in the rubber blade of the wiper popped out and scraped my windshield ever so much creating a thin.. now permanent arc where the windshield wipers go.

Yay for being poor and not being able to fix the little stupid crap on my car.

Go me.

So it's time to pony up my mad Macgyver skillz and get into the panel of my driver's side door and attempt to fix my window. I know how take apart that panel anyway so if anything I can at least look at what may be causing the problem and such. ( Yah that's right. I can take my car apart n stuff. That's hot. Woot woot. :))

It just always feels like it's something. Ug.

Oh well.

Busy weekend I suppose. Working open house bright and early tomorrow morning. Working tomorrow afternoon til closing. Sunday I'm working and then back to school.

I'm.... feeling a little teensy bit freaked out and overwhelmed. While admittedly, I'm doing it to myself and it's things to keep me moving in the right direction. I'm getting the slight creepings of that graballmycrapandrunawayquicklywhilestscreaming feeling. But I won't. I just have to keep going.

And I have to stop letting my fears rule me.

I'm terrified that I'm going to do badly here and that my talent level won't be high enough to actually get me anywhere.

My weekend was pretty awesome.

Went to an amazing party thrown by britgeekgrrl and dancing_shaman given at Wendy and Jeff's place in the South Bay.

I'd just like to say... I really REALLY heart Champagne. Like.. a lot.

Got to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Stayed up WAYYYYY too late. 8am is NOT a bedtime boys and girls. Remember that. :)

Spent all of Sunday in bed being lazy.

Monday was work and so was Tuesday.

Finally saw Sweeney Todd. Um. OK. Sooooo nobody told me this would be a bloody movie. I feel deceived. :) haha :) I seriously needed something warm and fuzzy to pet after that display of ruby. Fuckin' sweet costumes, though. It made me long to be back at Dicken's Fair.

School today. Work tomorrow. School Friday. Working Open House and Work Saturday. Work Sunday. And then I'm done at Happy Trails. YAY :) I'm hoping Starbucks figures out my schedule soon. I don't want to be without work for too long. Bills and all that good stuff.

Good god. I found out today it's 2 more weeks ( approx. ) til finals again. You'd think I'd get used to all this Newclassmidtermfinalsnewclassmidtermfinals *inhale* newclassmidtermsfinals... etc. stuff.

But I guess not.

I love it though. Seriously. It keeps me on my toes.

I'm in a really good mood. I mean sure. The usual stupid demons still loom but they're not as black and overbearing. They're more like a light, heather gray. :) haha :)

It's down to a mild cough that happens occasionally and I can sleep without nyquil. I feel that is a vast improvement.

I've also somehow lost my water container thing that I use for school. :( I actually went so far as to file a lost and found report. ( The security guard made me do it. :) ) I feel like I left it here when I came last week right after Christmas to work on my class stuff. I usually keep it in my car. :: shrug :: Maybe it's just time to get a new one. I think that one was starting to get icky and it leaked a little.

Still sucks. That one was pretty.

Alright. I'll stop rambling. :) hehe...

First, geek parties are the shiznit. They really make me happy. Plus, geeks are touchy feely and that's always a good thing. :)

Second. It's one thing to spend the night with someone. Sleeping, you pervs, is what I've referring to. It's something, however, much more special when they make you breakfast while you're in the shower. Never forget that. Eggs and toast are like the international comfort bond. Unless you're vegan and then I have no idea. But if you aren't vegan. Then... that act is awesome. And more people should do it for eachother. :)

I survived Christmas! :) YAY :)

It actually went pretty smoothly.

I woke up and got ready. It was then off to the Oakland Airport to drive around in circles for about 20 mins til my cousin, Paul, appeared. :)

I drove him to Walnut Creek where we met up with the rest of my family to caravan over to Napa.

In Napa we did dinner and then I got a call that I needed to start getting ready to head over to Pacifica to spend time with my uncle and grandma. So my McCarthy family sped up the festivies and we did a quick bout of presents :)

After that, I headed over to Pacifica and had a second dinner and a smaller bout of presents with my grandma and uncle. It was great seeing my grandma again :)

After that, I went home and played some video games before going to bed.

The day after Christmas I hung out with Angelica ( her gf's outta town with family ) and we ate and watched Zodiac. :) Good movie. : )

I went to my second interview at Starbucks and got the job! :) I start in a week or so. YAYYYYY :)

Then I went back to Pacifica and picked up my grandma to drag her to the mall to use my Torrid giftcards on their after Christmas sale. Yay new pants and a new hoodie! :)

My grandma also bought me a pair of Spanx. Yah. Um. I'm still getting used to the idea of those.

When we were done I dropped her off and headed back to Alameda to have dinner at Angelica's restaurant.

Then it was home, video games, and sleep :)

Today I worked for a couple of hours and talked to my manager about leaving in a couple of weeks to work at Starbucks. She said she wants to keep me on payroll so that I can help out as a backup if needbe. I said that was fine.

After that, I went home and showered. And now I'm at school working on homework :) Yay :)

I'm hanging out with a classmate tomorrow. Work Saturday and a party Saturday night. :)
