i don't know if this helps or not since we don't really know each other too well, but i can relate to both you and loren. i was in a relationship for almost 3 years, we talked about marriage several times, so it was pretty serious. it was actually an emotionally abusive relationship. he cheated on me probably almost the whole time we were together. there really wasn't any closure either, he just stopped talking to me. although i had my closure by telling him to never contact me again and blocking him in various ways.
it takes a while to deal with issues/scars whatever from past relationships believe me. but having someone to support you and be there for you while going through those things is something i am still so thankful for. patience is an amazing thing in these situations. i am still dealing and working on these issues on a daily basis, but i feel like i am getting better.
