Keroppi Update...

So today I am giving him his second bout of fluids.

I spoke with the vet this morning and he told me that if all goes well. As an estimate. He has about a year to live.

So I guess. I'll just take it one day at a time.

I just hate the feeling of prolonging the inevitable.

But who knows.

I'm still hopeful.

His test came back as VERY low. So maybe it'll stay in remission. Or something and he won't get that sick.

Only time will tell.

Fluids...

So I'm still not comfortable giving keroppi his fluids.

I can get the needle in but he makes motions like it feels uncomfortable. He doesn't meow or anything so I don't think it hurts.

When when I actually turn on the fluid is when he tries to get away...

And then when I was trying to put on a fresh needle to try again. I Stuck myself in the finger.

The nurse said that it'd be ok if this happens. But that it would just hurt.

And yes. It hurt. A lot.

And I bled. A lot.

So now he still hasn't gotten his fluids. I'm going to have Loren come over tonight and help me because I'm still very freaked out about doing it.

I feel horrible that I can't overcome my fear to help my cat.

SUCCESS!!

AH HA!!

I gave Keroppi his fluids!

All I had to do was put the flow at a slower pace.

Granted, that took longer.. and around the end of it I was holding him down. But he did it and it's all good :)
