Ok so Keroppi was starting have kidney failure. Hence the constant drinking on his part and the losing weight due to the build up of toxins in his body.

Also. He tested positive for having FIP antibodies. Doesn't mean he has the virus but it shows that he's been exposed. Another test in about 6 months will tell whether or not he's infected.

Currently.

I have to give him kitty dislysis every other day. Yes, that's right. Jessica. The biggest pansy when it comes to needles has to stick her cat every other day with an IV.

But.

If that'll make him better. Then stick him I shall!

It's really not as bad as I thought it would be. It's in the scruff of his neck so it doesn't hurt him. And he's really good when he gets it done so I'm a lot more relieved about that...

Total cost thus far:

Approx 200 dollars.

The fluid and needles only cost 39.00 so that was a relief.

So things may be ok after all.

They kept saying how weird it was that he's only a 3 year old cat and is experiencing kidney failure. So it may be good because he IS a young cat and may recover perfectly.

Only time will tell.

So after receiving his first bout of fluids this morning.

And me squeemishly sticking him twice with a needle.

Keroppi already seems to be doing extremely well.

He's being really social. He's eating, going to the bathroom, not sleeping as much.

I'm really happy to see results this soon.

No more needle adventures until monday.

I'm going to try to give him some Nutri-cal and see if he'll eat that and maybe gain weight a little faster.

Who knows :)

More updates later.
