My possible future..
Mar. 30th, 2005 04:42 pmWow.. so mad crazy stuff, yo.
If those of you aren't in the loop and have vaguely heard me discussing med school here and there here's the situation.
I want to become either a Polysomnographic Technician ( sleep technician ) or a Gynocological Nurse Practitioner ( A nurse practitioner is one step below a doctor. They can do pretty much everything a doctor can except prescribe certain meds. )
So I was at work today, bored as crap, and begun browsing the net looking for school where I can start my medical training.
I've, after much thinking and realizing I am just much too afraid of needles to become an NP at this point, decided to become a Polysomnographic Tech.
I can always become an NP later.
I was browsing and browsing and not finding anything in the way of schooling or anything other than a sleep technician school in Atlanta. Bump that noise. too far.
In a spark of inspiration I decided to call Bay Sleep, which is the clinic Loren stayed at and that I stayed at with him when he was tested for and later diagnosed with apnea ( really deadly sleep disorder where you stop breathing when you sleep ).
I found out by calling them that to become a Sleep Tech it's actually a hands-on training program that you do for 2 years. After 2 years you become licensed and can actually work anywhere you'd like or continue schooling, etc.
And as it turns out, Bay Sleep is hiring!
So the lady I talked to told me to send in some information about myself as well as my resume and we'd see if we could work something out!!!
So I sent in my resume and I may be becoming a Polysomnographic Technician faster than I had originally thought!! YAYYYYY!!!
If not, there's always selling cars and going to DVC and pursuing something else at a later time.
:)

Oh lord....
Mar. 30th, 2005 07:43 pmSo as I'm typing this, my roommate is putting up some janky ass alarm system his parents suggested he install because of his car getting stolen.
I know for a FACT that if there has been any type of robbery around my area, it's all been vehicular.
Did he think to ask that? No.
Is he a paranoid and naive white boy from Danville? Yes.
The second that thing goes off and either wakes me up, malfunctions and I get complained to by a neighbor, or does anything to piss me off.
I'm ripping it off the wall and throwing it in the garbage.
'Nuff said.
